THE VICTIMS

This is just a very small sample of stories of gun crime which have touched the hearts of ordinary people nationwide. There are many more victims whose stories are as tragic. Help stop this madness now by supporting the Don't Trigger Campaign. Lucy Cope
Mother of Damien Cope

Damien was 22 when he was shot dead outside a club in Holborn in July 2002.

Mum Lucy, has since set up the Mothers Against Guns group and says: "A part of me died with my son. "I've lost a soul-mate and nothing can repair my heart."

Patsy McKie
Mother of Dorrie McKie

Dorrie, 20, was killed in 1999, near the home he shared with his parents, Patsy and Dorrie Snr, in Manchester. The last time Patsy saw Dorrie, he asked to borrow 30p to pay for a basketball court. He never returned. "No words can describe how it feels not to have him here with me," says Patsy.

To have our Sons' life wiped out - taken from us - his future, his dreams stolen is indescribable. We are totally devastated - we have been served a life sentence - his killer will be out this Christmas just 6 years on. We buried Bradley’s ashes on what should of been one of the happiest days of his life - his Wedding Day.

Martin Hopwood
Father of Kavian Francis-Hopwood

Kavian met up with his Dad (Martin) on April 1st 2003 with his younger brother and sister. His last words to his dad were 'Thanks Dad for all that you have done for me'. This was the last time he was seen alive.

The next day Kavian was on his way to see a friend in Stonebridge, NW London. He did not make it. He was shot in broad daylight and died from the six bullet wounds to his body.

At the time of his death his girlfriend was pregnant with his child. He never lived to see her and she will never see him.

Kavian came from a loving Christian family with principles and morals. He is missed but will never be forgotten. 'When someone you love becomes a memory one day that memory will become a treasure hidden somewhere in the heart.'
